Thornley Groves Acquires Barlow Costley Estate Agents

In April 2015, Thornley Groves, part of the Lomond Capital Property Group, completed the acquisition of Swinton based Estate Agents, Barlow Costley. Located four miles from its branches in Urmston and Salford, the deal showed the firm’s commitment to expanding its area of operation to the North and West of Manchester.

Thornely Groves introduced a sales function to the business which previously only provided residential lettings, property and block management, enhancing the range of services available to existing clients in the area.

Employees from Barlow Costley were integrated into the Thornley Groves team following the acquisition and have continued to provide the high level of customer service and local insights. The client base has also remained with Thornley Groves and continues to experience a greater level of efficiency and industry experience.

Barlow Costley was established in 1991 by Tom Costley and his former partner, Rodney Barlow, operating from Chorley Road throughout its lifetime. Tom, who was heavily involved in the operation of the company, came from a long line of property professionals with family association through Thomas Costley and Sons in Salford for more than 25 years and Manchester, for over 70 years.
